Newsy Limerick 2
Newsy Limerick
By Madeleine Begun Kane
Restricting your diet of news
To outlets endorsing your views
Reinforces beliefs
And bias and beefs.
Why bother? You might as well snooze.
(Prompted by this circular poetry writing prompt.)
Author’s Note: I just realized that this limerick could just as easily fit in my other blog where I post political humor and satire.

You nailed it. I wrote a short poem a while back along the same lines. Just can’t take much news anymore with some anti-anxiety drugs. Thanks for joining in.
So true! Really loved this. But did not get the circular part. Why is this supposed to be circular? And by the way, thanks for visiting my blog.
Thanks Victoria and The Fool. And The Fool, re your question, I’d argue that when people expose themselves only to news, opinions, and ideas reinforcing their own, they end up engaging in circular reasoning … to the extent that they reason at all. :)
Brilliant….can’t top that. Seems like both sides of the aisle are guilty of that one. I am.
Madeleine, watching the news can be daunting at times. Good one.
Pamela
I love this one!
Thanks Hansi, Pamela, and Mama Zen!
