And defile, as democracy’s chilled.
Trump keeps tying our nation in knots,

Donald’s lawyer is rather a cut up,
Saying Mueller should “put up or shut up.”
While Rudy tells lies and lets loose,
Mueller quietly tightens the noose.

To prepare for tomorrow? No way!
It’s not war dead he mourns,
But a “witch hunt” he scorns —
Selfish, petulant Trump on display!
The Donald’s a dreadful employer
And a volatile stature-destroyer.
His “art of the deal”
Is to lie, backbite, steal,
Which is why he can’t buy a good lawyer.
Trump’s lawyers are frequently nayed
And their Mueller advice disobeyed.
Donald’s gut rules his mind,
So John Dowd has resigned.
I wish the man luck getting paid!
Russia meddled, our experts maintain;
Our Democracy’s suffered a stain.
But Donald would rather
Buy Putin’s false blather;
Trump’s owned by Vlad’s hard driving reign.
Though people seem prone to adopt
The past tense re the Russians, I’ll opt
To claim present tense crime
Re elections, each time;
There’s no reason to think that they’ve stopped.
Trump, who loves to slam “unnamed sources” as “fake news,” retweeted “FOX & friends” today:

“Unnamed sources are bad! They spread lies.”
It’s “fake news” when they’re used, Donald cries.
And yet sources unnamed
Who’ve loudly proclaimed
Stuff he likes? Those are upright and wise.
Many FBI agents are pissed
Cuz their boss Mr. Comey’s been dissed; Donald dumped the man rudely—
Not shrewdly, but crudely…
Via pretext that’s eas’ly dismissed.
Seems Donald was getting morose
Cuz Comey was getting too “close.”
So Trump’s crew took their cues
And concocted a ruse
To dismiss him. A Cover-up Gross!
“Any claims about Russia and me
Are a hoax” — Donald’s latest tweet-spree.
“It’s Hill you should probe!”
Was he wearing a robe
When he threw up this Twitter debris?
Trump was having a rather good week this past week … until he wasn’t.
So, what ruined Trump’s Congressional address high? No, NOT being wiretapped by Obama. That’s just some shit Trump made up and threw up on Twitter.
No, here’s what REALLY angered Trump: Attorney General Jeff Sessions having to recuse himself from the Russia investigation, because he lied under oath regarding his own Russian contacts. Hence, my limerick:
Trump’s dismayed, overwrought, feeling frayed;
He’d been waiting for Sessions to aid
Him with Russia, and thought
That a fixer’d been bought.
Jeff’s recusal has nixed that charade.
