Headline: “GOP blocks Senate rebuke of Trump on Russia sanctions”
Undoubtedly Putin is thrilled
By the mayhem he’s wrought; he’s fulfilled
His dream to install
Trump the Puppet, who’ll brawl
And defile, as democracy’s chilled.
Trump keeps tying our nation in knots,
And it’s time to connect all the dots:
He inflicts all this hurt
To distract and divert
Because Putin is calling the shots.
Headline: “Kremlin: Russia not ready to accept Trump invite to Washington”
Over hosting old Vlad, Trump’s been heady.
But the Kremlin says Putin’s not ready
To say “Da” to a visit.
A diss? Ain’t it, is it?
Poor Trump hoped the two would go steady.
At long last, there can be no debate:
Trump’s a traitor, who bows to his “mate,”
Russia’s Putin, whose smirk
Shows contempt for the jerk
Whose betrayal one can’t over-state.
The Donald’s a dreadful employer
And a volatile stature-destroyer.
His “art of the deal”
Is to lie, backbite, steal,
Which is why he can’t buy a good lawyer.
The Donald heaps praise upon strongmen;
Evil despots quite clearly the wrong men
To admire or laud.
Trump’s a terrified fraud;
Naught but one of those cowed “get along” men.
Donald’s suddenly mired in disputes
With pal Putin. I’ve spotted the roots
Of their low in relations
And dreadful vibrations:
Trump must “prove” that they’re NOT in cahoots.
The Donald lays blame on Assad
For chemical warfare, but Vlad
Says Assad’s stash is barren;
Just rebels have sarin.
When two liars diverge, who’s the fraud?
After the New York Times published Putin’s op ed column, Senator McCain decided to one-up him by writing an opinion piece for Pravda (the official paper of the Russian Communist Party.) Unfortunately, he didn’t realize there are two Pravdas. Even more unfortunately, McCain ended up being published in the wrong Pravda.
Pravda.ru, the news outlet that actually published McCain’s piece, is an electronic news website founded in 1999. Even though the website also bears the name Pravda, it is not connected to Pravda newspaper. The website has English and Russian editions and covers everything from politics to fashion and celebrities.
R U Proud Of Yourself, McCain? (Limerick)
By Madeleine Begun Kane
There’s someone on John McCain’s staff
Who made an embarrassing gaffe:
His haste he shall rue—
Pravda-r-u won’t do
For a piece by McCain. What a laugh!
