Open Limerick To New York Governor Kathy Hochul: Fire Mayor Eric Adams STAT!

Mayor Eric Adams has made a deal with Donald “The Devil” Trump: In return for Trump’s making Adams’ pesky indictment go away, Adams will violate NY law by cooperating with Trump’s immigration (and perhaps other) policies. To make matters even worse, Trump has ensured Adams’ cooperation by making the indictment’s dismissal “without prejudice.” In other words, if Adams stops cooperating, Trump can get the indictment reinstated.

Fortunately, Governor Kathy Hochul has the legal power to remove Mayor Adams from office. But so far, she’s still weighing her decision. My limerick urges her to do the right thing and fire Mayor Adams right away.

Mayor Adams is now owned by Trump.
He’s been bought, so when Trump tells him “Jump,”
Adams asks him “How high?”
And so I must ask “Why
Doesn’t Hochul give Adams the dump?”

This comment by former GOP Rep. Barbara Comstock made me laugh and inspired my latest limerick: “If Donald Trump disappeared tomorrow, I don’t think you’d have many Republicans in the search party. Maybe a few prosecutors. But not Republicans.”

If Trump disappeared, just how hard
Would pols look for that large tub of lard?
Who but those with indictments
Would have the incitements
To secure him in jail under guard?

Like Rachel Maddow, I think Don Jr. is lucky it’s JUST a subpoena. (He could have been hit with a perjury indictment referral like other such liars.)

Poor Donald Trump Jr. is mad;
A subpoena’s been served on the lad.
But he’s dodged a referral
For perj’ry — demurral?!?
He should THANK Richard Burr and be glad!

The Perils Of Perry (Limerick)

Can you imagine Republicans ever questioning the legitimacy of a criminal case against a Democrat? Alas, that would take intellectual honesty. So don’t hold your breath.

On the other hand, many Democrats are openly questioning whether Rick Perry’s sleazy behavior rose to the level of a criminal act. As for me…

What’s a crime can be sometimes unclear.
Yes the law is confusing, I fear.
I’m a lawyer, but still
I’ve no skill, nor the will
To predict if this case will cohere.
