Open Limerick To British Prime Minister David Cameron

I’ll bet you never did this to YOUR kid:

David Cameron left his eight-year-old daughter in the pub following a Sunday lunch, after a mix-up with his wife Samantha, Downing Street has admitted.

The couple’s daughter Nancy wandered off to the toilets while they were arranging lifts and they only realised she was not with them when they got home, the Sun said.

The prime minister rushed back to the Plough Inn in Cadsden, Buckinghamshire, where he found his daughter with staff.

The story could prove embarrassing for the prime minister, coming on the same day as the government relaunches its £450m troubled families programme.

To forget your young child in a pub
Is quite an astonishing flub.
The result could be sinister,
British Prime Minister.
So don’t do it again! Okay, bub?

This is so funny! My father-in-law did almost the same thing with one of his grandsons. He left him “on” the check-out belt at a Food Lion store. The girl running the check-out ran out to the car and said, ” Sir, you left your grandson in the store. My father-in-law was already in the car ready to leave. He had totally forgotten he had brought his grandson with him. lol MEN!!! lol

Their young Nancy’s three hours afloat?
Looks like mummy and daddy don’t dote:
    “She’s gone missing? Why care?
    There are plenty to spare…
And it’s not as if eight-year-olds vote!”

  4. madkane says:

    Fun limerick, Steve!
    Thanks very much, Hansi!
    Great story, Camilla!

  5. aprille says:

Well, not really all the fuss they make about it.
A country local, where everyone knows everyone else, more like leaving her with friends. It’s not as if she was all that little.
Still, not everyone gets a limerick written about them :-)

  8. Wow, could not even begin to imagine leaving my kid behind…glad she turned out to be all right!

  9. hedgewitch says:

I hear they tried to turn it into some good press with the laboring class–saying the daughter was ‘helping the pub owners with their work’ when they came back for her. That’s like kissing babies, isn’t it?
