Limerick Ode To John Boehner
John Boehner’s jobs speech was rather hypocritical, as Greg Sargent points out. Sargent highlights two rather inconsistent sentences:
“If we want to create a better environment for job creation, politicians of all stripes can leave the ‘my way or the highway’ philosophy behind.”
And there was also this:
“Tax increases, however, are not a viable option for the Joint Committee.”
Such hypocrisy cries out for a limerick:
Limerick Ode To John Boehner

Boehner’s job speech surprised me a tad.
He said, My way or highway is bad.
Sounded promising till
He continued, No bill
Will raise taxes. Hypocrisy’s sad.

Probably because tax increases hurt jobs. If this bill is supposed to help job creators, there can be no tax increases. He’s not voicing stubborn refusal; he’s stating a fact.
The “job creators” created the most jobs when taxes were in the 70-90 percentile range in the 1950s. Taxes for the rich and corporations are the lowest in more than 60 years. They are sitting on trillions of dollars, not creating jobs. Nothing will change until money is put into the hands of the middle class and the poor, and businesses offshored are rebuilt here.
Keep drinking the Kool-Aid Chris.
Bev, you’re absolutely right!
Thank you Bev. Too bad Repugtards don’t believe in facts. Amen madkane! Chris and all of his blind Koch Brother tools keep drinking the Kool-Aid while the middle class disappears with their help!
I’d like to try some of what Chris is smoking. It will be interesting to see how this whole Jobs Bill will play out.
LOL, Hansi! Thanks, MadJoan!
