A Limerick Farewell To Anthony Weiner
Limerick Farewell To Anthony Wiener
By Madeleine Begun Kane
I’m feeling forlorn, but resigned.
We have lost a great liberal mind.
There was really no choice
But to lose Weiner’s voice—
His behavior put Dems in a bind.
Let’s hope this is only a pause—
That one day he’ll be cured of his flaws—
With the passage of time
He’ll arise from the slime
And further our liberal cause.

And a limerick welcome to weepy John and a hearty congratulations on his sex scandal.
John Boehner, Speaker of the House
Has shown himself to be a louse
Had an affair with a real hottie
Now his career is down the pottie
So binge he will in a month long souse.
Ole’ John Beaner stuck his weiner
Just as soon as he had seen her
In hotels around the city
Exposed himself and what a pity
Cause now it’s back to Bowling Greener.
Oh, well, it’s been a long day.
Madeleine, I’m with you on your comments about the fallen Congressman. What an odd addiction. Mania? Hypomania? Treatable? What a loss, and I hope his wife will handle this major quake as well as possible, but that’s a private matter.
I wrote a limerick about this, but decided to toss it.
What is it that makes folks from both sides of the isle self-destruct when they go to Washington?
Anthony Wiener is gone
While Vitter’s proud to be “John”
And the Democrats pander
To this double standard
While Ensign and Coburn get along.
Anthony Wiener was a thorn
That the DLC regularly scorned,
Now Wiener resigns
Amidst corporate crimes,
But they’re clouded by T and A storms.
IOKIYAR
As radioactive as Hanford,
That’s Weiner. No Dem thinks he can ‘ford
His staying. Yet GOPers?
Free pass on the bloopers
Of Vitter and Craig, and yes, Sanford.
