Limerick Ode To Tagg Romney
I’m enjoying the conflicting rumors about Tagg Romney perhaps running for John Kerry’s old Senate Seat.
Limerick Ode To Tagg Romney
By Madeleine Begun Kane
A scion of Romney, named Tagg,
Voiced a punchy, but fantasy brag
About “taking a swing”
At our prez, so his fling
At the Senate may well hit a snag.

See Tagg is a son of a bitch
Who happens to be super rich
So he sits in his tower
And dreams of more power
But my how his undies do itch.
Tagg Romney, the trust-fund lad worm,
“I’ll bag me a Senate seat term!”
His trial balloon, *pop*
His Senate run, Stop!
He’s everything makes voters squirm
What kind of man names his son “Tagg”?
Such a moniker makes a boy gag.
So he tries for the Senate,
Saying, “Once I am in it,
My name might not be such a drag.”
I’ve often wondered why anyone would name a kid “Tagg.” Anybody have an answer?
It’s not a limerick, but when Tagg announced he was not running for Senate after all, someone commented on another site, “Tagg, you’re not it.” (Better, I suppose, than “Tagg, you’re not Mitt.”)
Thanks so much for your fun verse and comments!
