The Republicans rail round the clock:
“How on earth was Mitt beat by Barack?”
They have theories galore,
But they need just one more:
It’s the policies, stupid! Take stock!

Finally the election is past
Democrats raise up a toast glass
as Republicans wonder
“where did we blunder?”
It’s obvious – your head’s up your ass
O bubblelicious GOP
Caught in alternate reality.
You had your numbers, had your facts,
But sadly all made up by hacks.
Is it the rubber room for thee?
It’s fun to watch Repubs freak out
Over victories they failed to eke out.
Though the voting is done,
Dems are still having fun!
As excuses continue to leak out!

There once was a man with a vote bucket

It’s amazing how many people in different countries are relieved the Republicans didn’t win, Madeleine. Canadians are particularly grateful, because our GWB-trained uber-conservative prime minister would make mincemeat of our country if he and Mitt had a hand in it. (Yes, pun intended, even if I couldn’t come up with a limerick.)
