Limerick Ode To The Math-Challenged Media
Paul Ryan’s budget plan is both radical and fraudulent. But that doesn’t prevent an astounding number of journalists (who presumably count with their fingers) from treating it with respect and referring to it as “serious” and “bold.”
Limerick Ode To The Math-Challenged Media
By Madeleine Begun Kane

Ryan’s radical plan and applaud,
Say it’s “serious,” “bold,”
But his plan has no hold
On reality — naught but a fraud.

Well, you know what they say… don’t believe what you read in the papers…
Do any of us have faith in politicians any more?
Well said ! And in answer to Tilly Bud, no, not so much. 8/
Love the way you rhymed this!
We are doomed:)
Who can have faith in politicians, Madeleine, Well put.
Pamela
I think you’ve got this one absolutely right (and write!) Bravo.
Incidently I wrote a limerick today on my blog which should “appeal” to the lawyer in you. Seriously though, while I think the meter and rhyme are ok, I’m not sure last line has the punch of a true limerick. Let me know what you think. Thanx
Thanks so much, everyone.
Elaine, I stopped by your legal limerick post and posted some comments. :)
Here’s Congressman Ryan, whose rich friends are cryin,
“We want to be richer, Boo Hooooo”
His backers are millionaires who want to be billionaires,
And they’re all psychopaths, tooooooo
They were feeling neglected, so they got Paul elected,
And they told him just who to screwwwwww
That would be you.
Nice verse!
