Weathering Spring (Limerick)

Weathering Spring (Limerick)
By Madeleine Begun Kane

I wonder just what is the reason
Why spring’s such an ornery season.
First it’s cold, then it’s hot,
Then it’s icy, then not —
Makes me ask whether spring is just teasin’.

(Think Tank Thursday prompts us to wonder.)

You’ve perfectly described our Sonora Desert weather, Mad; and that’s a feat since spring changeability is not our norm. We usually leap right into heat.

  4. This is cute, Madeleine. Such brevity is welcome. It fits the weather here in Australia too, funnily enough.

  5. Karen says:

Spring is as changable as the weather ;)

    no more than winter did
    all the snow was hid
    much in the seventies
    frolicking with levity
now in june, sleet might summer bid

    ok i butchered that…crazy weather…

  7. Mosty definitely LOL!

    Hi Madeline
Love limmericks and I really relate to that one–only my limmerick would be hormonal menopausal…unfortunately not teasin’:-)

I wonder just what is the reason
why husbands are taken with treason,
    they all take the stand
    with bible in hand,
truth is boring, and lies are in season.
