Attention Must Be Paid
Here’s my limerick and haiku prompted by this attention prompt and this challenge to write about writing:
Attention Must Be Paid
By Madeleine Begun Kane
I find paying attention’s a pain.
A-D-D makes it rather a drain.
I’m drifting right now.
Lost in thought? Yes, and how!
Which is why this short story’s inane.
*****
Must pay attention
to pretentious professor.
Can’t? Then pretend to.

Excellent! Bravo! :O)
Thanks so much Madeleine! Nice name, by the way. :)
Oh, how I have feigned paying attention. 8 AM Calculus II class, sat directly in front of the professor. Fell asleep nearly everyday. To my defense, I have narcolepsy and I also managed to get an A+ so he couldn’t say too much. Disgraced, though, I was.
A.D.D. certainly can be draining as well as narcolepsy, different diagnosis, similar feeling. Thanks for the limerick and the great haiku!
That is funny! I feel this way often enough!
I would much prefer that Attention pay me.
Both of my daughters have ADD – unfortunately my teen was only just diagnosed at 16, where my Wee One has a better/fighting chance in school being diagnosed at 6. Unfun, to say the least.
Well done!
Must wear dark glasses. Conceal the eyes. Of course a neck brace helps hold the head up until one falls from the chair.
Thanks so much everyone for your comments and kind words.
BTW Did you pick up your awards Lovely Blog Awards
:O)
From one Madeleine to another, thanks! And congratulations!
