Uncharitable Limerick
When I’m not prompting people to write limericks in my Limerick-Offs, I often seek inspiration from other poets’ prompts, such as the Writer’s Island’s Saturday prompts. This week its word is clarity.
Uncharitable Limerick
By Madeleine Begun Kane
It sure is a relative rarity
To find pols who can think with some clarity.
Most pols don’t impress me.
Their follies distress me.
To say that they’re bright would be charity.
(You can find lots more political verse in my Mad Kane’s Political Madness Blog.)

To say this is wise is tautology
Politicians are daft as astrology
They think in a fog
As unclear as a log
And speak in abstruse terminology

HILARIOUS!
I never think to use the limerick form, but sure do appreciate your skill with it.
Be yourself, that’s all you can do.
See yourself, from your own point of view.
Don’t follow the sheep,
and live your life half asleep.
Free yourself, and your dreams will come true.
cripey mad! I posted on the wrong page.
Maybe I shouldn’t drink… nah
love the clarity limerick
LOL! And thanks everyone!
You want me to write about clarity?
I’d much rather do one on austerity.
How big government’s too fat,
All this and all that.
And what they need to do, to bring back prosperity.
Thanks, Hansi!
