Wall Street Woes (Limerick & Haiku Prompt)
We’re in the middle of a financial crisis that affects almost everyone. So I hope you’ll join me in writing limericks and haiku (senryu) about our Wall Street woes. First, my limerick:
I shudder when opening mail,
And my sinking accounts make me wail.
I would sure like to beat
Up those guys on the Street,
But I fear that I can’t afford bail.
And now my haiku (senryu):
Financial vultures
First gobble up our assets,
Then demand dessert.
Now, of course, it’s your turn. Your assignment, should you choose to accept it, is to write some verse about Wall Street woes. When you’ve posted your poem(s), please return here and add a direct link to your themed poetry, using Mr. Linky. There’s no rush, by the way, because you have until October 3rd to post it.

written as distraction to one very boring morning
oops not take the first time
Money’s too tight to mention, and time will come when they even take the food off our plates.
Thanks for the prompt. This one worked up pretty fast for me.
A quick limerick. In Aus we aren’t as affected by the US crisis, but we are still hurting.
A very quick but not so dirty senryu
EXCHANGE GRATE, at NICKERS AND INK
So true! Disgustingly good poems!
Although I still believe that life is getting way too complicated, you always make me smile!
A little late:(
Hope its okay,
thanks for the prompt!
Clever verbiage to address the revoltingly disgusting ‘above it all’ pucks.
