Gray Matters (Limerick)
Please stay tuned for a big announcement, which is coming in the next day or so. But in the meantime, I’ve been prompted to write about getting older. So here’s my Gray Matters limerick:
Gray Matters
By Madeleine Begun Kane
Though young when I started to gray,
I refused to say, “Gray, go away!”
In the decades gone by
I have never used dye.
Mess with nature? My answer is “Nay!”
My best wishes to LA’ers who’ve been through an earthquake today. Fortunately, so far at least, the damage hasn’t been bad. I still have vivid memories of the really scary 1971 LA earthquake.

Gray(t) limerick as ever! I love the way you keep on knocking them out!
Great limerick. I find limericks really hard to write…you certainly have the ‘knack’ of them :)
I agree with Bev! Great limerick! I also have a hard time writing them.
Great limerick!!! I haven’t written one in forever!!
No dye for me either – as long as I still have a full head of hair, grey is welcome!
Funny and smart!
If I could write limericks as well as you, I’d be a happy camper. And I’m staying tuned for the big announcement!! Hope you’ll have your own law/humor tv talk show!
You say “Nay,”
and I’ll say “Neigh.”
And neither of us
minds the gray.

This poem is wonderful-It almost describes me-I highlight. I started going gray when I started to teach-lol! But my Dad has been gray all of my life-not sure where it came from-hehe!
I apologize for being so late visiting-I’ve been busy! Thank you for visiting mine!
Have a great weekend!

Here’s mine
[…] closing, it’s limerick time, thanks to Madeleine Begun Kane, who presents Gray Matters at Mad Kane’s Humor Blog. Aging gracefully has never been more […]
I’ve got a few grays that my teen wants to pull out. I tell him, “I earned every one of those. Leave them alone!” No dye here.
