May I Panic Yet? (Limerick)

May I Panic Yet? (Limerick)
By Madeleine Begun Kane

I’m trying quite hard not to panic,
But poll trends are making me manic.
Prospects never looked great,
And it seems now that fate
Has ensnared us inside the Titanic.

  1. Gosh, I mean be #1 here; doesn’t happen often. Brian gets over 50 comments, so I get in line. How lovely to bump into a Limerick out here on the trail; we haven’t done them at dVerse in a while. Hopefully, we poetic dissidents are not merely rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic.

oy, there are no good choices when it comes to the polls…its a money game and anyone we would ever want in the office would never make it there…

  4. We are sinking… we are sinking..

    what are you sinking about.

    LOL… so true

  6. I am always in awe of the way you can turn a limerick to any topic or mood.

  7. Akila says:

ah! the form turns the poem into a lovely piece of satire!

  8. … And the band played on …
    Well done limerick :-)

  9. Justin Lamb says:

Nicely worded. I like the form you used, too.

  10. Matt Spence says:

Groovy piece, and I agree most days it does feel like the Titanic- which is probably why I avoid the news.

  11. Limericks could be the new way to deliver the news, how cool would that be? Nicely done.
