Ode To Workaholics

Today (July 5th) is National Workaholics Day.

Ode To Workaholics
By Madeleine Begun Kane

Workaholics endure a disease,
Which will cause neither cough nor a sneeze.
But they’re gripped by a fever;
They’re missing the lever
That permits them occasional ease.

    How snazzy is this limerick for those greedumbs who race to work, dash home, eat, bathe & sleep…& tomorrow is the same rat maze. No socialization gratification, no tours of culture, no stimulating relationships & if you’ve got kids & choose to be workaholix, you should be persecuted…& often. You’re the reason dysfunctional families exist & a blight of shrinx pollute the U.S. Why would you need more than 1 yacht? An extravagance-only life [& an unexamined one] is not worth living sez Socrates. Just stop it. Everybody hates you.

    How true the limerick of today!
    My father worked his whole life away!
    Not a moment of fun
    With his daughter and son,
    As he slaved so hard day after day…
