There’s An App For WHAT??? (Limerick)

Just when you think a problem is unsolvable, a creative company comes up with a solution. I’m referring, of course, to Smarter Socks which, we’re told, “makes sorting socks child’s play” through “interaction between the socks with a communication button, the Sock Sorter and an iPhone app.”

What would Seinfeld have to say about this?

There’s An App For WHAT??? (Limerick)
By Madeleine Begun Kane

If you find that your socks keep cavorting
And consorting with strangers, your sorting
Can be helped with an app:
Smarter Socks fill the gap
When your laundering skills need supporting.

UPDATE: Alternatively, you could ditch the app and celebrate No Socks Day 365 days a year.

These apps amuse me . God knows if they make life simpler or turning into slaves of tech !

  2. Dear Lord.

And I hear there are underwear with GPS built in. Seriously! To track suspected cheating significant others. Oy.

My socks, they too do wander
    Whenever my clothes I launder
    In the dryer, erratic
    They’re o’er charged with static
And pairs become rare as the Condor.

Mum used safety pins for my socks
It kept ‘em paired in the sock box
    But my pinned up stockings
    Set my knees to knocking
Whenever I went out for walks

So matched hosiery is not a concern
When on the boulevard I take a turn
    If the people I meet
Choose to obsess ‘bout my feet
Their company I do haughtily spurn

Mad, A new tag? “Governance or To Govern”

There are three branches of government There.
And what should be their sole care?
To make good laws and enforce…..
The best child care, of course.
And stand guard on the General Welfare.

“Specific welfare (lobbying) is well, leechy.
    To eliminate it: “Peachy!Peachy!”
    But P O L I T I C S’
Fix is the need for its tricks.
Ere the mess get too screechy.

Concerning missing socks…they are not lost in the dryer, but the wash,
over the rim and out through the pipes, to n’re be seen agin’

But we blame the poor dryer, as we retrieve those items we believe should come hither…and when not forth coming we get in a tither.

Matching socks is just so over rated, our methods for pairing outdated –
but an app for that? How about we just pay the dry cleaners…
