Limerick Passion
Poetry Jaam prompts us to write about love or passion. I almost took a pass on this prompt, because I don’t like writing (or reading) mushy stuff. (Hubby Mark is our household’s designated mush-meister.) But instead of skipping it altogether, I came up with this:
Limerick Passion
By Madeleine Begun Kane
About lim’ricks, I truly have passion,
And I guess that is love, in a fashion.
Cuz to me, rhyme’s like breathing—
Without it, I’m seething.
Have compassion — don’t ask me to ration.

haha. i wont ask you to ration….i enjoy the breeze of your limericks…and the trickiness in how you bend some…keep breathing…
I’d say love of the limerick is definitely a passion! What amazes me is how you can keep turning them out. Smiles.
{smile} a wonderful passion, indeed!
thank you for participating at Poetry Jam!

Wonderful…. you are really a genius!
Compassion is my middle name!!!!!
hmm…and you said your not good at the mushy stuff…
the truth is you just hide it quite well within your quick whit and rhyming skills.
Her passion for growing face hair
Is clear: her cheeks are beneath it right there.
She performs at the follies
With clean-shaven dollies.
But I can’t remember…just where.
Her producer asked her to shave.
O Lord, she how she did misbehave
That the curtain caught fire
Because of her ire.
Such passion could lead to the grave.
Thanks so much everyone for your kind words and thanks Hoot for your clever verse!
