Happy National Poetry Month! (Limerick)
April’s a big month for poets — National Poetry Month. This means that instead of simply enjoying spring, poets drive themselves extra crazy by vowing to write a poem a day.
My first April effort was this week’s Limerick-Off challenge. Only 29 poems to go.
Here’s a limerick for Day 2:
Happy National Poetry Month! (Limerick)
By Madeleine Begun Kane
April’s Poetry Month. Say “Hurray,”
As we vow to write verse ev’ry day.
But that promise is hard,
For this limerick-bard.
Cuz, alas, I have nothing to say.

Yeah, sure you have nothing to say. :) ;) :)
Hmmmm…I didn’t know anything about poetry month. Thanks for the heads up! :-]
Somehow, I find that hard to believe… :)
Haha, cool! Still, you managed to say something ;-)
sometimes the best way to coax a stubborn verse out is to verbally jab it just a bit, very nice!
i did it last year…and it worked out good…i like my rhythm too much now to push myself harder…happy poetry month…
I don’t think I could write a limerick every day, but I am taking part in the April festivities.
More Than A Feeling
It’s hard even if you always have plenty to say and babble at the drop of a hat. It’s just hard. But you made me laugh, Mad, so all’s not lost.
You have a lot to say I think–and cleverly!
you always have something to say
opportunity on mars
I completely relate. Some days, the words just won’t come. I love the way you express your “nothing to say.”
Ha! You know I’ve done this for the last few years, but I don’t think I can quite stand the name Napowrimo. I’ve done Nanowrimo too, and don’t mind that name, but Napowrimo is somehow an unfortunate title. Something perhaps for a limerick. K.
By done this, mean draft poem a day. They were some pretty rough. K.
Well, you’re off to a good start! :-D
Nice limerick about nothing :)
Thanks so much everyone for your lovely comments!
