Going In Circles (Limerick)

Since I couldn’t find a prompt that tickled my muse today, I used an idiom list instead. Here’s the result:

I’m going in circles. Not fun!
It’s late and I’m irked — job’s undone.
Starting over’s upsetting;
I’m tense, anxious, fretting,
And fear that it’s back to square one.

I wrote this for our Garden Club meeting. We are were having program on succulents tomorrow (March 13).

    An Ode to Succulents
By “Fern Fudpucker” (aka Linda Gast)

Today we will learn about succulents.
    Alas, I admit I’m incompetent.
If I don’t do it right
    They will die overnight!
And then they will all be my condiments!

Perhaps I can rescue my succies
Cuz Brandy will save the day — duckie!
    Aloe, Gasteria!
    Cactus, Haworthia!
Just maybe I’ll fin’lly “GET LUCKY.”

PS–Brandy is the name of the woman presenting the program, but as I read it back just now it made it even funnier thinking of drinking brandy!

Hope you enjoy and Happy St. Patty’s Day!
