Today’s the 3rd Friday of August, which means it’s International Apostrophe Day:

The apostrophe’s often misused
And bruised by the over-enthused,
Whose possessives, contractions,
And capital actions
Leave marks when our grammar’s abused.

    Brilliant! I wish every reporter, journalist, editor and author of anything, would read that. It gets so annoying seeing misplaced apostrophes on a regular basis in newspapers, magazines, books, online, etc.
