Happy National Dance Day — July 25 (Limerick)

Happy National Dance Day! (last Saturday of July)

I’ve learned that I’m taking a chance
Whenever I venture to dance
With my husband, who’s wild;
I’ll likely be piled
On the floor — never good for romance.

  1. Suzanne Heymann says:

    A fisherman grew quite irate
The fish were not taking the bait
    His hook had a worm
    That just wouldn’t squirm
Didn’t want to be something fish ate.

  2. Suzanne Heymann says:

A fellow who found a nice date
Believed that this girl was first rate
    ‘Twas love at first sight
    Her jeans were skintight
He thought he had found his soulmate.

  3. Suzanne Heymann says:

If all of the food on your plate
Is tasteless and makes you irate
    Then don’t be a fool
    Attend cooking school
Then all of your meals will taste great!

  4. Suzanne Heymann says:

If you’ve got a terrible mate
    Who’s temperament is third rate
    Don’t argue, don’t grieve
    Just pack up and leave
Your new peace of mind will feel great!

  5. Suzanne Heymann says:

My birthday is why I’m irate
    No reason to just celebrate
    My body gets older
    My bowels get bolder
My hearing and sight ain’t that great.

    Dear Ms. Kane,
I realize I somehow got stuck doing the required “rate/irate’-rhyming limericks on your ‘Happy National Dance Day’ page, but for some unknown reason, my computer won’t let me get access to this week’s limerick contest page where all contestants post their ‘rate/irate’ limericks, (but I keep trying, but no luck) so I guess my submissions are probably doomed sitting in the wrong section of your entry pages. Oh well, I enjoy reading all the stuff that’s out there, thanks.

Okay, ignore all of the above; I found the missing link to the rate/irate contest. Sorry for the bother!
