Limerick Ode To Flowering Weeds
Limerick Ode To Flowering Weeds
By Madeleine Begun Kane
Our neighbor insists we should weed
And refuses to even concede
That a weed can have beauty.
That gal is too snooty.
Methinks that her soul’s gone to seed.
UPDATE: March 28 is Weed Appreciation Day.

I lived next door to someone like that. My weeds offended her so much I came home one day to find her on her knees in MY yard pulling them out! Sheesh! She needed to take a Chill Pill!
A weed is just a plant in the wrong spot.
A rose is a weed in a wheat field.
Oh yes, weeds are but wild flowers after all. There is a lovely patch of scrub land that I walk past every morning – at the moment it is a riot of colour. A lovely poem!
Nature made INDIVIDUAL flowers & pebbles. “Only dead fish swim w/the stream.”~Malcolm Muggeridge. Throw a weed party in your yard & invite your neighbor. Don’t forget to bring the weed [the smoking kind]! Then plant a sign: “Keep off the Weeds!” Sounds like a walleyed meddler.
“You laugh at me because I am different; I laugh because you are all the same.”~Daniel Knode
Be who you are & say what you feel, because those who mind don’t matter & those who matter don’t mind.”~Dr. Seuss

“When I was 4 yrs old~~in testing my IQ~~they showed me a picture of 3 oranges & a pear. They asked me which one does not belong, they taught me different was wrong.”~Ani Difranco.

does every flower start as a seed
and who decides which one we need
while some might need plucking
I’d prefer to be _ucking
taking pleasure in the flower’s reprieve
Ha, I like your conclusion!
