Limerick Ode To National Handwriting Day
Happy National Handwriting Day! (January 23)
Limerick Ode To National Handwriting Day
By Madeleine Begun Kane
Happy Handwriting Day to you all.
Seems the point’s to get paper and scrawl.
Though my wrist won’t approve,
I shall get in the groove–
Taking pen up, I’ll go have a ball.

So the pen was a ball-point, I guess.
if forced to write by hand
no one would understand
my cursive is cursed
block letters – reversed –
cacography has taken a stand
I never leave this blog without feeling like singing your poems. :) a poem-song: best way to start the Sunday with.
Fun write! I love calligraphy actually … but the art of handwriting seems to have become obsolete. Mouse & keyboard have taken over … maybe our spelling will be better? :)
there is something personal to handwriting a note…
plus i love my journals and its cool to look back
over the handwritten poems and what my original thoughts were…
Great words and i hand write all my poems, in red!
I did not know there was a day for handwriting – which must be becoming a lost art. In my case, that’s a good thing, have always had horrible handwriting.
Journals are, at the absolute worst, a way to try and sort thoughts. And no one ever has to see what you’ve written but you!
My penmanship’s hit quite the wall
there’s no really having a ball
so scribbled my scratch
none could ever match
vocab to my writings at all
My handwriting once carefully written with fountain pen on white paper have now detoriated to a signature …
When they make a day for it, does that mean it is dead?
Getting in the groove is sometimes the most difficult part. I do keep a journal and I sometimes can’t decipher my own handwriting. Lol.
Stopped in for my smile :-)
