Vendor Venting (Limerick)

Vendor Venting (Limerick)
By Madeleine Begun Kane

A package arrives, which I lift.
Since I’ve NOT placed an order, I’m miffed.
It’s a greedy misdeed
To anticipate need.
Dear Amazon: Thanks for the gift.

Note from Mad Kane: This hasn’t actually happened to me, but it’s only a matter of time. Why? Because Amazon has just patented “anticipatory shipping.”

Yes, Amazon thinks it knows what we want, even before we know we want it.

Sorry Amazon, but my husband can’t read my mind … and neither can you.

i saw they were doing this…a little scary when you play it out…maybe their drones will deliver and hold you at missile point until you pay as well…

I LOVE limericks and you did a fantastic job on this one. It is kind of scary that Amazon thinks they can predict what we want. I don’t think it will work with me because I don’t always know what I want! Really enjoyed this thanks for sharing it on dVerse.

There once was an Amazing store
That thought that I needed some more
    They sent me some things
And they said with no strings
But collectors are outside my door!

I laughed and laughed when I read what they were doing.

I read about this. The almighty corporation knows what we want. I love what you did with it. We can still laugh about it. :)

  5. A wonderful little rhyme. Tight and concise. Lovely.

You are ahead of the curve with this limerick as I just read about Amazon’s “assumptions” this morning.
