Limerick Riddle
Can you guess the last line (or last word) of this limerick? I’ve left empty spaces between lines 4 and 5, so you can guess before reaching the end. (If Wait, Wait, Don’t Tell Me! can do this, why can’t I?)
Limerick Riddle
By Madeleine Begun Kane
It’s often left after a flood.
When you throw it, I might say, “Oh, crud!”
I’m beginning to fear
That my meaning’s unclear…
The word that I’m slinging is “mud.”
(Thanks to Sunday Scribblings for the inspiration.)

My basement is packed full of mud.
Yet the GOP’s still slinging mud.
I think I remember a saying that dirt (or mud perhaps) thrown is ground lost. Politicians seem to have forgotten this.
Sally, I should have used sling in my last line. I think I shall change it. Thanks!
just dont get stuck in the mud….
smiles…
‘Twas the tale of Barack and of Mitt
And both parties were having a fit
It was surely no fun
And we’re glad it’s all done
There will be no more slinging of “mud”
Hahaha…”You might say ‘Oh crud'”
I thought it would be : but it should be as clear now as mud!
Thanks so much for your fun comments and answers to my limerick riddle.
Haha! I wouldn’t have guessed it. Not enough coffee yet today… :)
