Embedded In Sleeplessness (Limerick)
My insomnia blankets the night.
Slumber teases — declines to alight.
So I toss and I turn
In my bed, as I yearn
For release from my sleep-deprived plight.

Oh yes, been there many a long and weary night. You summed it up perfectly *smile*
“insomnia blankets”
“slumber teases”
A lively night and a catchy limerick!
It’s the limericks that do it – they churn though my mind. Sometimes I can get up and write them down and that gives my brain permission to shut down.
Perfect!!
Thanks so much for your kind comments, everyone. And J Cosmo, I too am haunted by limericks, but even writing them down doesn’t help shut down my brain. :)
Great one, Mad. I hope Walt read it.
Thanks very much, Sara!
