A Poet’s Nightmare (Limerick)

DVerse prompts us to write about nightmares. Here’s my response:

A Poet’s Nightmare (Limerick)
By Madeleine Begun Kane

A gal had a frightening dream.
It featured her muse — made her scream:
Said her muse, “You must write
About terror tonight
And forever, cuz nightmare’s your theme.”

Lovely lucid limerick … about a nightmare yet … well done indeed!

  5. Mama Zen says:

    That sounds about right!

  6. Well, you made this theme your own, didn’t you! Perfect!

  7. That wicked, monstrous muse! Yet I can’t help think that wrestling her into a fine limerick might indicate your victory :).

    Haha – cute limerick

  9. Manicddaily says:

Ha. But hopefully not forever! k.

You’ve met my muse? Seriously though, you’ve managed to make this prompt your own. In terms of writing, my greatest fear is of never being able to write again rather than of always havig to wrte on one theme.
