Sundry Haiku
Words meant to welcome—
“Please make yourself at home.”
remind me I’m not.
*****
Oboist mutes gasp,
playing unviable phrase,
conquering Bizet.
*****
A Nantucket man
knew his much lim’ricked neighbor—
envied him his fame.
*****
Plan for the future,
but never let your planning
erase the present.
*****
An alluring scent,
indecently delicious,
renders gents senseless.
*****
(The first haiku was inspired by Sensational Haiku Wednesday’s home prompt. The second haiku was inspired by 3 Word Wednesday’s prompt to use the words gasp, mute, and viable. That second haiku alludes to a notoriously long and difficult oboe passage in Bizet’s Symphony in C.)

This is very beautiful.. I will be happy if you can visit to have a look at my posts with haikus.. Thanks !!
I love what you did with the 3WW prompt! (Although all of ’em are goodies!) ☼
Expertly done and beautifully written!
They are beautiful, concise, and very readable – not at all my fragmented lunatic attempts at haiku. I especially love the 3WW :)
Lovely well written Haikus. I know what you mean about when people say make your self at home that is so true.
Beautiful Haiku and great use of the 3WW promt words.
You are a genius of thought and form, I think!
Yes, poor Nantucket neighbor. I think ‘d move to CA if I was that close to such lymerick fame. :)
LOVE the one about not erasing the present. Good advice.
Enjoyed these very much.
those were wonderful and proverbious!

Your first haiku caught me off guard!
Really liked the first one. I was taken off guard too. Excellent!
I am always rewarded with a smile when I visit. Nice set!
For me they all tick all the boxes, but the oboist won hands down.

The first one is very clever. So true!
