Tanka Tuesday
I took a break from limerick writing to write this pair of tanka:
When haiku won’t do,
when thoughts defy compression
and can’t be contained
in seventeen syllables,
give thanks to plus-sized tanka.

Some art inspires
tears, joy, admiration, love.
Some awakens thought.
And some makes one want to ask:
“Whatever were you thinking?”

I can always come here for a smile. Very clever, both of these! :)
funny! The Tanka is the 24 hour bra of Japanese poetry forms! For those full figure poems!
You have me smiling. Some days (most), I think, “To hell with form.” But then other days I wish I could squeeze myself into a pair of shoes and walk properly. Seems to be about where and when and who.
These are great !
Aahhh! You have made me step into your parlour…again! Is this okay by Tanka standards?
Just when I had thought
Life is just the way I like
Mad Kane’s new Tanka
Knocks me off my complacence
And I am caught in her web
Thanks everyone for you kind words!
Vijaya, I like your tanka! :)
I gotta say this:
Hall to the plus-sized Tanka…
just more poem to love.
That’s what happens when fed a
steady diet of humor.
Rock on, Mad Kane! ☼
Thanks RJ! Fun comment!
