Limerick Ode To Peter Falk
Mark and I were very saddened to hear that Peter Falk has died. He’s provided so much entertainment and so many laughs over the years, I had to write this limerick:
Limerick Ode To Peter Falk
By Madeleine Begun Kane
Alas, we have lost Peter Falk.
He was famed for his “one more thing” talk.
His Columbo spurred laughs
With his “just pretend” gaffes,
As he nailed ev’ry bad guy he’d stalk.

Very well spun and said….
Nice ode, Mad. I will miss him too. I met him once about 4 years ago at the LA Film Festival (I had a short in the fest). He was a gracious and kind man.
I can’t add to that. Perfect! And a loss.
Awh I didn’t know he’d died. That’s sad. Love the tribute Limerick to him. Fabulous :O)
Very nice tribute Mad.
Last night I YouTubed Peter Falk doing the Dean Martin Roast of Frank Sinatra. Good stuff.
As Columbo, he was the best.
Peter Falk played a great Columbo.
In a field where the mortal seem jumbo.
He reached heights not many achieve
And along the way awards he’d receive.
In a field where success taps few
Peter to his character stayed true.
And so he crafted a remarkable show
From which his warmth will always glow.
Break a leg, Peter.
Falk wrote a biography some years ago entitled Just One More Thing. I have a copy of it around here somewhere. Good book. Tells the story without fluff or scandal. Worth reading.
Lovely ode, Mad. And to it I say:
Yes, he will be missed.
Such fun we had through the years;
video remains.
Thanks so much to all of you for your kind, thoughtful comments!
Columbo, i send you these rhymes
You solved quite a few tricky crimes
By sniveling lads
And ascot-wearing cads
And Jack Cassidy, three or four times
Nice limerick, Bob!
Wonderful Limerick my mom used to watch Columbo when I was small. I also very much enjoyed your limerick for 3 Word Wednesday
Thanks so much Candice!
