Raw Limerick
Raw Limerick
By Madeleine Begun Kane
Raw veggies are healthy, they say.
We’re advised to eat tons ev’ry day.
Plus dairy, grains, fruit,
Fish or chicken to boot.
The last two not raw — Hip Hooray!
(Written for the Sunday Scribblings’ raw prompt.)

very cute! I would rather not eat Everything raw either!
I can imagine one early cave man’s delight to find the chunk of meat he was eating tasted so much better after falling in the fire! Great limerick.
Raw veggies are healthy, they stated
I’ve gone against grain unabated
The Raw fish in sushi is sporty
when mixed with Gulf Coast 10w40
it won’t leave you stuck constipated.
The last limerick was somewhat a breach
but I grew up on Pensacola Beach
BP blew their mission
so I’m no longer fishin’
and I’m frustrated by how far oil reached
Thanks Amanda and Old Egg! Fun verse Henry! And so very true.
Very amusing limerick – but here in Finland we eat plenty of raw fish too.
Cute limerick… I can’t imagine eating raw chicken :-(
Definitely good dietary advice.
Thanks, I have to admit my husband eats sushi. But I won’t go near it. :) Ugh!
Reflections on the Rediscovery of Fibre
As Beneficial in the Modern Diet
The lowly oat
The humble groat
Each fibrous fleck of bran
Has now been found
To bring profound
Relief to modern man.
Hypertense?
Have flatulence?
You say your leg is swollen
Each can be tamed
Or else reclaimed
Your heart or furry colon.
The lesson here
Is pure and clear
For evey oat imbiber
There’s “good” to find
In every kind
If you’ve the MORAL fibre.
Norm, I love that poem. Thanks for the laughs!

Norm, I’ll be sure to check it out. :)
I’ve been scrolling down and reading lyric after lyric, or do I mean limerick? Both I suppose :)
Thank-you for the smiles… and happy st paddy’s, world poetry, women’s day, and happy this Sunday day!
Toodles.
Thanks so much shaista. I’m glad that you’ve been enjoying sundry limericks!
