AWOL Angel

AWOL Angel (Limerick)
By Madeleine Begun Kane

I guess guardian angels are fine.
I don’t know, cuz I’ve never met mine.
If I have one, it’s hiding—
No guarding, no guiding.
What I’m missing, I can not divine.

(Written for the We Write Poems Guardian Angel prompt.)

UPDATE: August 22 is Be An Angel Day, and October 2 is Guardian Angels Day.

My guardian too, has gone A.W.O.L.
He must have been an angel from Hell
    There’s been no chiding
    They too, are in hiding
And as for Divine intervention, I just can’t tell.

Oh this is so perfect Mad
I guess guardian angels are fine.
I’m not sure cuz they’re hard to define
I watch and I do wait
But I swear they are late
I may never know in my life time.
