Beguiling Verse
This week Writers Island prompts us to use the word beguile in a poem. So here’s my Beguiling Limerick:
Beguiling Verse
By Madeleine Begun Kane
A gal who was very beguiling
Was always so charmingly smiling,
That she duped many men
Yet again and again.
Now they’re lined up in court for a filing.

A woman who could always beguile
led me at once down the aisle
She tricked me you see
because I thought that she
would constantly give me that smile
But now I see I was duped
And fighting with her has me pooped
I’d just like to leave
but she’s holding my sleeve
Now into this marriage I’m cooped.
I enjoyed your limericks Rob and Jesse!
LOL, I love a good limerick and enjoyed this!
There’s a gal named Mad “Citizen” Kane
Whose limericks drive us insane.
We’ve asked her to stop,
Even gave her a WHOP!
But nothing will make her abstain.
:-)
Very good limerick, beautifully written. I love your way with words. An amazing enriching page. Love it :)
All the best

A wry lady, with limericks beguiling
Seduced others to try verse-compiling
A fine way to stay young,
With rhymes on the tongue
To keep a community smiling
Thanks everyone for your lovely comments and thanks especially to Steve and Beriowne for those wonderful limericks!
