Why I Don’t Relish Shopping
Why I Don’t Relish Shopping
By Madeleine Begun Kane
I stare at the shelves in confusion,
Wond’ring why there is such a profusion
Of sizes and styles.
Choices litter the aisles.
Is the simple life just an illusion?

heh. “choice” poetry. funny!
your poem is profoundly truthful.
just pick an aisle in the store and it’s enough to cause aneurysm.
deodorant? eeek!
feminine products? double eek!
toothpaste, shampoo, toilet paper and who the heck needs 40 varieties of hand lotion?
Couldn’t help but laugh. There are times when I find all the choices way too much consumerism. Good Manic Monday
I thought I had commented here before this.
Never mind.
Too many choices takes away the pleasure of choosing.
I think you’ve hit the nail on the head!
Shopping is really mad these days!
Oh yep, it is an illusion.
Thanks for your comments!
Since this can be such a stressful time, why not stop by Mad Kane’s place for a little yuletide cheer?…
2008 Carnival of Everything Finance Begins ! (# 10…
Welcome to the January 2, 2008 edition of carnival of everything finance.
We had over 70 really good articles submitted for this edition.
Editor favorites have “*” on them….
*laugh*!
I feel that way, when I am looking for toiletries or over the counter meds.
Trying to figure out what pill combined with what nasal spray will work, gave me a headache in the aisle.
As for clothing, I am a reformed shopaholic, so I can basically walk into a store, assess it within 5 minutes and either stay to browse or leave completely.
With that being said, I don’t really have patience for stores like T. J. Maxx or Winners, unless I am looking for something in particular.
